:: Strategic Planning- Graduate Education ::
Graduate education should be a more central element of our intellectual culture in order to fulfill our responsibilities to conduct applied research, supply the California workforce, and assist the faculty in their scholarly pursuits. The Working Group on Graduate Programs should consider size, number, and foci of current and proposed programs as well as type (masters, doctoral, professional practice) and funding sources. The results of the Working Group’s deliberations should be a few concrete recommendations that are consistent with existing expertise, resources, and national and state needs. The recommendations should be practical and the results measurable.
It is important that the Working Group conduct its deliberations in light of cross-cutting issues important to our university. They are diversity, sustainability, interdisciplinary collaboration, faculty workload, student success/retention/graduation, quality of life, and community citizenship.
The individuals appointed to this Working Group are:
- Mohammad Noori (Chair), Deans Council
